| Overview
A critical component of the CFB’s economic development strategy is a comprehensive workforce development initiative designed to meet the education and training needs of New York's bioscience industry. The CFB’s workforce development programs respond to the evolving needs and demands of the dynamic bioscience industry. These programs provide both undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities that enhance learning and promote career exploration.
Fundamentals of the Bioscience Industry Program
The Fundamentals of the Bioscience Industry Program (FBIP) is a professional development program that provides students who have a scientific background with a comprehensive understanding of the bioscience business environment. This program is targeted toward graduate students and post-docs seeking to facilitate commercial activities within their academic labs or enhance their knowledge of the commercial sector in order to transition into non-academic careers. The FBIP presents an in-depth introduction to life science product development cycles, regulatory practices, financial models, managerial challenges, future trends and needs in the life sciences, and ethical issues facing the industry today. The FBIP enables current life sciences graduate students and post-docs to enhance their scientific training with industry knowledge as well as provide early career professionals within the industry with insight to increase their productivity and contributions to corporate goals. Visit program website for full details.
Alumni Group
