Projects supported by the Center for Biotechnology have contributed to major advances in medical research. The impact of these advances, and the technologies currently under development by the Center for Biotechnology, will improve the quality of health care well into the twenty-first century.

Center investments in collaborative research projects between New York companies and faculty have had a significant impact on the State's economy. By stimulating innovative faculty research, the Center increases the technological competitiveness of New York State companies. Access to seed funding, faculty expertise and core research facilities have played a pivotal role in introducing new products and technologies into the marketplace.
