Fees for Conducting Research in Madagascar

Communication (in Antananarivo)

Phone, e-mail, internet, web are available at the MICET office.

Phone: the cost depends on duration and destination of calls. Local phone service is provided at no charge.

E-mail: it is 500 ariary for every message sent or received regardless of length.

Internet: to keep you informed about what is happening all around the world, access to the World Wide Web is available at the MICET office in 'Tana. The fee for use of these services is: 200 ariary/minute - 10,000 ariary/hour

Communication (at Centre ValBio)

Phone service is available in the town of Ranomafana (accepts Telecom Phone Cards, best purchased in Antananarivo or Fianarantsoa), and shortly will be available at the Centre ValBio. Internet will be available shortly via the satellite phone on a fee basis. In the meantime, emails can be written/received weekly during provision trips made by Centre ValBio staff to Fianarantsoa.

Equipment Storage

If you need to store equipment in Antananarivo, you should negotiate the fees and duration with Benjamin ANDRIAMIHAJA. Any items stored longer than 3 years will become the property of MICET. For equipment storage at the Centre ValBio, please discuss with the the Centre ValBio Director.
