New Research Center and Residence Hall
ICTE's major funding initiative at present is to finalize construction of a research laboratory/residential addition to the Centre ValBio Research Station Campus adjacent to Ranomafana National Park. This extension, which complements the existing field station, will allow the seamless integration of research in the forest and the laboratory. In addition, this residence hall will provide permanent housing for undergraduate study abroad students, graduate students, faculty, and visiting researchers into the future.

The Dream
The new research and residential building will be located adjancent to the existing research station. We have received a National Science Foundation Improvements in Facilities, Communications, and Equipment at Biological Field Stations and Marine Laboratories (FSML) award for this building. However, further funding is needed. Naming opportunities for sections of this cutting edge tropical research facility are still available to donors. Please contact us for more information. The photo above shows our vision for the completed building which is being built based on "green" principles. Upon completion, the residence hall will have a climate-controlled research laboratory including a genetics lab, a GIS station, invertebrate, botany, ornithology, aquatics, and mammalogy labs, and an audio-visual center.
Current Centre ValBio Facilities
The Centre ValBio Research Station, completed in 2003, is situated adjacent to Ranomafana National Park, just across the Namorona River. The Centre ValBio entrance is 300m south of the Ranomafana National Park entrance on National Route 25.
