Bubulcus ibis
Cattle egret
Français

The cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a wading bird, but it also seeks out zebu and catches insects disturbed by them. It is a small heron-like bird, mostly white with an orange bill and orange legs. Some years these egrets will nest in vast numbers in one tree. This is the same cattle egret which has colonized the Americas in the last 50 years or so.

Diet

Mostly insects (grasshoppers) but also amphibians, reptiles and young birds.
