The Madagascar buzzard is somewhat smaller than the harrier and the goshawk. Its coloration varies, but generally the head is grey, back a light brown, belly white, tail brown on top, grey below and banded with a rounded tip.
Has been seen to prey upon Cheirogaleus major major, and Eulemur fulvus rufus alarm calls to it. (Goodman et al, 1993)
