Identification

A brown terrestrial bird with short bill, short legs, longish tail. Underparts paler than upperparts. White stripe at neck. Well camouflaged in its natural habitat.

Ecology

Found on the forest floor, usually travelling on foot (it flies poorly). Probably eats insects and fruits.

Breeding

Nests have been observed in November and December, about 1~2m above the ground and have held one egg. (UICN, 1990)
