Identification

Upperparts are dark brown, underparts paler. Head appears flattened with large rounded ears. (Garbutt, 1999)

They roost in small colonies (sometimes with other species, at RNP known to roast with Miniopterus)

Taxonomy

Mammalia -> Chiroptera (Microchiroptera) -> Vespertilionidae (Vespertlioninae) -> Myotis goudoti

This species contains two sub-species, one, M. g. goudoti, is endemic to Madagascar, the other, M. g. anjouanensis, is found on Anjouan Island and the Comoros.
